Your one-month learning plan

A milestone
every week.

Each week has five teaching days: 10 guided hours and 5 hours of independent practice. The last week includes project review and the final demonstration.

Week 1 · Days 15

Data questions and quality

  • Define a business question and metric
  • Inspect CSV columns and data types
  • Find missing values and duplicates
  • Use basic spreadsheet summaries

SQL for analysis

  • SELECT, WHERE and ORDER BY
  • Aggregate with GROUP BY
  • Join two related tables
  • Check totals and export query results

Week 3 · Days 1115

Build the report

  • Import and transform with Power Query
  • Create a simple table relationship
  • Write basic DAX measures
  • Choose charts, slicers and readable labels

Validate and communicate

  • Reconcile report totals with SQL
  • Document metric definitions
  • Explain findings and limitations
  • Package the report and present recommendations

Your final project

College workshop participation dashboard

Analyse synthetic workshop and registration data by department, topic and attendance. Deliver a local Power BI report with three supported findings and a data dictionary. Cloud publishing is optional and depends on the college licence.

How learning is assessed

Data-quality log, independently checked SQL queries, report accuracy and an individual explanation of the final insights.

Students should explain their own decisions, show their work and document limitations. Any certificate conditions are agreed with the college before the batch begins.
